Inspired by our on view exhibition Down These Mean Streets: Community and Place in Urban Photography, El Museo is proud to present entre vistazos: Looking Back at Community and Place in Photography featuring artists Manuel Acevedo, Perla de Leon, Hiram Maristany and Camilo José Vergara.

Join us each Thursday from 12:30-1pm for our new exhibition tours program, ‘Tours al Mediodia.’ Museum educators will take visitors on a bilingual tour of highlights from both exhibitions on view: Down These Mean Streets: Community and Place in Urban Photography and Liliana Porter: Other Situations. FREE WITH SUGGESTED ADMISSION.

Visit Las Galerías and explore our current exhibitions, and learn about our fall and winter programs including Reliving Traditions, Cultural Connections, and Storytelling at El Museo, and how you can incorporate our educator resources into your classroom lessons.

Celebrate Mexico’s beloved 3,000 year-old tradition commemorating friends and relatives who have passed away with a procession led by Danza Azteca Chichimeca, a community altar by artist Tlisza Jaurique, a special concert by Radio Jarocho and Zenen Zeferino, art-making workshop, face painting and more!

Join El Museo del Barrio as we host Dia de las Memorias, our annual Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) inspired by the legacy and history of Latinx community in the United States, in the advent of El Museo’s upcoming 50th anniversary in 2019.
