Eight New York City museums are coming together, once again, to present the 43rd annual Museum Mile Festival (Virtual). The day-long celebration of art and culture will feature live and pre-recorded programs, virtual exhibition tours, online activities for all ages, and more. The content will be streamed across their respective websites and social media platforms.

LA TRIENAL TALKS – Candida Alvarez in conversation with Rodrigo Moura

In the context of her participation in El Museo del Barrio’s first nation-wide survey exhibition, ESTAMOS BIEN — LA TRIENAL 20/21, join chief curator Rodrigo Moura in conversation with artist Candida Álvarez. The dialog focuses on Álvarez’s rich six-decade trajectory as a painter, her active participation in the Nuyorican art movement in the 1970s, and the politics of identity in American art.

MAKING ARTE! ¿Como Estas? Expressing Feelings through Color, Shape and Line 

Join artist Beto Sepulveda for a narrated guide of the iconic painting, ‘Estoy Bien‘ by Candida Alvarez on view now at El Museo’s current exhibition, ESTAMOS BIEN – LA TRIENAL 20/21Using the video, and the resource guide, learn how Alvarez uses color, shapes and lines to express her feelings and ideas. Follow along as you make your own original digital drawing using the Google Draw app on your computer or draw it by hand! Recommended for ages 8 years old and up.
