Hola! El Museo del Barrio is delighted to partner with Cool Culture to present a special session of Coqui Club, the museum’s live, interactive bilingual program for our tiniest museum visitors. Facilitated by El Museo’s Museum Educators, each program highlights different themes and includes a range of activities, from open-ended discussions about works of art and storytelling to movement, music, and art-making projects.
For this Coqui Club session, join us as we explore the difference between loud and quiet, and how we can mindfully navigate what’s in-between. Our journey will start with an introduction to the coqui, a tiny singing tree frog native to Puerto Rico, and will include an inspirational reading from the book Quiet by Tomie dePaola. The program will also incorporate movement and breathing exercises and will end with an art-making activity. Please bring paper and some colorful crayons or markers for some creative fun! Recommended for children ages 3-6 and their caregivers.
