She was born in Cadereyta in Nuevo Leon near Monterrey, Mexico. At the age of three, where she legally immigrated with her family to the United States. Her father’s job first took them to Chicago. The following year they moved to Lodi, California. Age 16, she moved to Sacramento where she lived until 2005 when she was awarded a residency at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts in Omaha, Nebraska. Claudia now lives and works in New York City. She received her BA from the University of California, Davis and her MFA from California College of Arts in San Francisco, California. Her work has been exhibited in the United States, Canada, Europe, Mexico and Japan. For more
