Join us for a night of fun at the 46th Annual Museum Mile Festival at El Museo del Barrio! Explore our current exhibitions, including Amalia Mesa-Bains: Archaeology of Memory, the first retrospective exhibition by the pioneering artist, curator, and theorist, and Cuerpo: Carlos Martiel, the first solo exhibition in a New York City Museum of Carlos Martiel, the inaugural recipient of the Maestro Dobel Latinx Art Prize.
Amalia Mesa-Bains: Archaeology of Memory is a rare opportunity to view three decades of Mesa-Bains’s genre-defying artworks, many of which are on display together for the first time, and Cuerpo: Carlos Martiel is a survey encapsulating two decades of Martiel’s performance-based practice.
El Museo’s celebration will feature outdoor art-marking activities—inspired by our current exhibitions—live musical performances by Osmay Calvo and his band, and gallery tours!
