Argentine-born, New York-based artist Liliana Porter discusses her latest exhibition, Liliana Porter: Other Situations on view at El Museo with Inés Katzenstein, Director, MoMA’s Patricia Phelps de Cisneros Research Institute for the Study of Art from Latin America, and Shelley Rice, NYU Arts Professor and Writer. Exploring such themes as the play on time and memory, fiction and reality, they will address the complex philosophical and social themes underlying Porter’s distinct practice.
We will also be screening Liliana Porter and Man with Axe: Fragments of a Conversation with Julio Grinblatt on the work Man with Axe and Other Brief Situations, a film by Julio Grinblatt presented by the Institute for Studies on Latin American Art (ISLAA).
