Join Coquí Club, El Museo del Barrio’s lively bilingual program designed for our youngest visitors! Led by museum educators, this interactive experience includes storytelling, discussions, and a hands-on art-making project.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 8, as we celebrate Women’s History Month by honoring Pura Belpré, New York City’s first Puerto Rican librarian. We’ll read Planting Stories: The Life of Librarian and Storyteller Pura Belpré by Anika Aldamuy Denise and Paola Escobar, a beautifully illustrated book about her lasting impact on young readers.
After the reading, we’ll bring her stories to life by creating puppets, just as she did during her storytelling sessions! Join us for a morning filled with culture, creativity, and inspiration. Don’t forget your Coquí crowns and get ready for a creative adventure!
Space is limited—if you reserve a spot but can’t attend, please cancel in advance to allow others to participate.
Each child must be registered separately. Recommended for ages 3–5. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
