Arturo O’Farrill & the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra 15th Anniversary Concert

Celebrating the orchestra’s fifteenth year performing anniversary, Arturo O’Farrill and his Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra dig into the crates for a night at El Museo del Barrio in a retrospective of the band’s illustrious history on November 5th. With a history of pushing the future of latin jazz forward, the orchestra will feature previously commissioned works from some of the most compelling and forward thinking composers of our time while also paying homage to the forefathers of this music by performing classic repertoire of the genre. These performances will kickstart the 2016-17 New York performance season which also includes the newest installment of the Música Nueva series as well as an exciting collaboration with legendary pianist Chucho Valdes.

The GRAMMY Award winning Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra (ALJO), led by Arturo O’Farrill, brings together the drama of Big Band jazz, the culture of Latin music, and the virtuosity of eighteen of the world’s most accomplished solo musicians.
