Musica at El Museo

All performances are free and open to the public. Performances take place in El Museo's courtyard outdoors unless otherwise noted.

June 6, 7:00 - 9:00pm - Mariachi Azteca Bustamente
Hard-hitting and emotional, this popular mariachi band kicks-off El Museo's concert series celebrating roots, family & tradition

June 13, 7:00 - 9:00pm - King Chango (Theater)
Presented in collaboration with the Venezuelan Consulate. Very high profile group, spearheaded rock en espanol genre. Have toured internationally. Huge acceptance locally and around the world.

June 20, 7:00 - 9:00 pm - Son Como Son
The heirs of traditional Cuban Son, "Son Como Son" keep it pure and real for newer generations to enjoy.

June 27, 7:00 - 9:00pm - Luis Bonilla/Trombonilla
Costa Rican from California, has been a side man to all the Jazz and Latin greats, including Astrud Gilberto, Toshiko Aykioshi, Willie Colon, Eddie Palmieri, Lester Bowie, and Marc Anthony. An original composer, his music is pure Latin rhythms meshed with funk, rhythm n'blues and world music.

July 18, 7:00 - 9:00pm - Jimmy Delgado "Latin a la Jazz"
Has been a side man with all the Latin/Salsa greats, including Tito Puente. His own repertoire is Puerto Rican based with jazz and salsa influences.

August 1, 7:00 - 9:00pm - New on the Scene/Emerging Show Case:
- 7:00 Roberto Guerra - Dominican - can feel an inspiration of Juan
Luis Guerra, with a contemporary infusion of soft rock. Traditional and romantic, with a touch of North American & global references. Sing along style.Catchy tunes.
- 8:00 Nova - Dominican young artist - contemporary fluid/groove
music and soft tunes. "Loungey" & very hip.

August 15, 7:00 - 9:00pm - Ralph Irizarry & Son Criollo "Best in 70's Salsa Dura & Latin Jazz" This ensemble features some of the best musicians/artists in town!

August 29, 7:00 - 9:00pm - Herman Olivera y Sus Amigos
Member Appreciation Night

  • Highly regarded and acclaimed as one of the great local Soneros of NY. Great improviser. Has performed at all the major concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, with all of the Salsa greats.
  • Free salsa lesson from 6:15-7:00pm courtesy of Empire Dance
  • One complimentary drink ticket for members
  • Free gift for members and those who sign up to become members on that night
