‘Uptown’ is in the house at El Museo! Featuring Occupy Museums (Arthur Polendo, Imani Jacqueline Brown, Kenneth Pietrobono, Noah Fischer, Tal Beery) project, Debtfair Bundle: artists affected by the Puerto Rican debt crisis, 2017. Featuring a special artist talk with Debtfair artist José Soto at 7:00-7:20pm and again from 8:00-8:20pm.
This project, first shown at the Whitney Museum’s Biennial 2017, is here reconceived by the artists of Occupy Museums to focus on the Puerto Rican debt crisis and the art-related debt of artists on the island, including works by artists Yasmin Hernández, Sofía Maldonado, Celestino Junior Ortiz, Norma Vila Rivero, Gamaliel Rodríguez, Adrian Roman, Melquiades Rosario-Sastre, Nibia Pastrana Santiago, Jose Soto, and Gabriella Torres Ferrer.
Also, check out a special performance by artists La Chiquita Brujita with DJ Geko Jones, and an art demo by artist Juan Salazar. Food on sale by Mofon-GO and Empanada Times.
