LA GALA DE EL MUSEO HONRA A MARIO TESTINO EL JUEVES 26 DE MAYO DEL 2011

Nueva York, NY, 14 de febrero del 2011—El Museo del Barrio anunció hoy que su Gala anual, que se llevará a cabo el jueves 26 de mayo en Cipriani 42nd Street en la ciudad de Nueva York, honrará al fotógrafo de moda Mario Testino en celebración a sus 30 años de carrera y logros artísticos. La glamorosa fiesta de recaudación de fondos, que beneficia a la institución cultural latina líder de Nueva York, será presidida por Yaz y Valentín Hernández y Alex González y Raúl Martínez. El comité honorario de este año, aún en formación, incluye a Naomi Campbell, Jennifer Connelly, Francisco Costa, Chase Crawford, Hugh Dancy, Oscar de la Renta, Linda Evangelista, Victoria Fernandez, Anne Hathaway, Josh Hartnett, Carolina Herrera, Kate Hudson, Elizabeth Hurley, Michael Kors, Courtney Love, Sienna Miller, Narciso Rodriguez, Stella Tennant y Donnatella Versace.

VOCES Y VISIONES: Signs, Systems & the City On view December 18, 2010 - December 2011

New York, NY, November 29, 2010—El Museo del Barrio announced today that the newest installation drawn from its Permanent Collection, VOCES Y VISIONES: Signs, Systems & the City in El Museo del Barrio’s Permanent Collection, will be on view in the Carmen Ana Unanue Galleries December 18, 2010 - December 2011. Curated by Deborah Cullen, El Museo’s Director of Curatorial Programs, the exhibition includes over 100 works by over forty Puerto Rican, Latino, and Latin American artists, as well as objects created by Kuna, Shipibo, and Taíno cultures.

El Museo del Barrio's Director of Curatorial Programs Deborah Cullen to Curate Trienal Poli/Grafica de San Juan for 2012

New York, NY, January 14, 2011—El Museo del Barrio is proud to announce that Deborah Cullen, Director of Curatorial Programs at El Museo del Barrio, has been appointed Chief Curator of the 3rd edition of the Trienal Poli/Gráfica de San Juan: América Latina y el Caribe, scheduled to take place in Puerto Rico in April 2012. Cullen brings her long-standing passion for graphics, coupled with her keen understanding of modern and contemporary Caribbean, Latino and Latin American art to this milestone event, which will bridge Puerto Rico's contemporary artistic scene with the rest of the Americas and the globe.

El Museo del Barrio Celebrates 34rd Annual Three Kings Day Parade

New York, NY, December 29, 2010—El Museo del Barrio will celebrate its 34th Annual Three Kings Day Parade on Thursday, January 6, 2010, at 10:30am. The time-honored holiday procession will include Honorary Kings, Madrinas, Padrinos, thousands of school children, live camels, gigantic hand-made puppets, and performers who will bring lively music and colorful dancing to the streets of El Barrio.

El Museo del Barrio Announces Triad of Holiday Programs

New York, NY, December 1, 2010—In celebration of the holiday season, El Museo del Barrio will host a triad of festive free public programs. On Saturday, December 18, 2010, the museum will present Super Holidays at SUPER SABADO! Target Free Third Saturdays, a day-long celebration of Latino holiday traditions culminating in the 9th Annual Coquito Tasting Contest; and on Thursday, January 6, 2010, it will celebrate its 34th Annual Three Kings Day Parade.
