Caribbean: Crossroads of the World, organized by El Museo del Barrio in collaboration with the Queens Museum of Art and The Studio Museum in Harlem, features 550 works by 379 artists spanning four centuries. This multi-themed exhibition emphasized the relationship between the Caribbean and the US, and the artists from both locales who contribute to ongoing conversations about national and regional identity and belonging. The exhibition will present an extensive series of public programs, both organized by the three presenting museums and through collaborations with organizations around New York City. The programs will provide myriad opportunities to delve further into themes presented in the exhibition through films, concerts, dance performances, literary readings, and other events throughout the city.
