Artist Educator, School Partnerships

We are currently seeking an Artist Educator to be responsible for the development and implementation of school partnerships and outreach programs. Each program will link El Museo's mission and history, Permanent Collection, and exhibitions on view to the classroom curricula. The school partnership programs, Classroom Connections (CRCs), consist of five to ten-part sessions, which involve curriculum development, museum visits, hands-on workshops, and program assessment, in collaboration with the classroom teacher. The outreach programs are comprised of three-parts: a classroom visit to introduce a theme or topic; a museum to link the theme or topic to the resources of the museum, and a final classroom visit to reflect through a hands-on-workshop. Each three-part program is pre-formatted to introduce school groups to El Museo's history, its mission and permanent collection. All programs will address applicable subject areas using the New York State Learning Standards and the NYC Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts as guidelines.
