Gods, Spirits, and Legends:Twentieth-Century Art from El Salvador East Gallery and Project Wall November 14,1998 to February 28,1999
This exhibition presents a selection of paintings by
prominent Salvadorean artists. The selection will
attest to the stylistic and iconographic diversity of
painters born between 1900 and 1960 and, for the
first time, promote their achievements to the New
York public. The presentation of this exhibition
provides El Museo with the welcome opportunity to
foster ties with the large Salvadorean community in
this City. Gods, Spirits, and Legends has been
organized by Friends for El Salvador, a
not-for-profit, non-governmental organization
dedicated to promoting Salvadorean culture in the
United States. We are grateful for the support of El
Consejo Nacional de Culture de El Salvador
(CONCULTURA), El Ministerio de Relaciones
Exteriores, GRUPO TACA, and an anonymous
donor.
